Land south east of Henley-in-Arden

Sustainable Travel

Our proposed new homes would be well placed to link into the existing travel network, ensuring easy and convenient travel by car, train, bus, cycle, and on foot.

The new homes will be accessed by car through two separate access points. First of these will be on Warwick Road (approximately 100m east of entrance into Henley-in-Arden school) and will provide access to the Eastern section of our site. The second access will be on Stratford Road (approximately 150m north of the entrance to the Memorial Trust playing fields) and will provide access to the Western section. There will be no vehicle-accessible road between the two sections through our site, as the River Alne bisects it. There will, however, be a pedestrian and cycle bridge crossing the river, ensuring easy pedestrian links between the two sides.

There are multiple Public Rights of Way (PRoW) crossing the land, which will be retained and incorporated into a network of foot and cycle paths which will be created to facilitate travel on site. These will also allow for quick and easy access into the existing nearby facilities and amenities, such as the local schools, community centre, and high street.

The site is well connected in regards to public transport, with Henley-in-Arden rail station located approximately 1.6 km to the north-west, which equates to a 17 minute walk or 7 minute cycle. This provides a direct connection into Kidderminster and Stratford-upon-Avon. Additionally, there are multiple bus stops within easy walking distance of the site, namely the ‘River House School’ and the ‘Warwick Road’ bus stops. These ensure easy and convenient travel to Stratford-upon-Avon and Solihull for commuting and recreational purposes, without the use of a car.

For those with access to a vehicle, the new homes will be accessed via the A4189 Warwick Road or the A3400 Stratford Road. Both of these provide easy and direct connections to surrounding built up areas of Redditch, Solihull and Warwick, as well as the motorway network via the M40.

Facilities and Amenities

The new homes will be well linked to nearby facilities and amenities, ranging from services such as the medical centre, community centre and schools, to private businesses such as shops, cafes and pubs. Some of these services may receive extra funding if planning permission is granted, through Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 agreements, whilst local businesses will benefit from an increased customer base.
