Land south east of Henley-in-Arden
Landscaped Open Space
More than 60% of the site site area will be transformed into publicly accessible green space, totalling more than 14 hectares.
The below diagram is indicative, but outlines our current proposals for green infrastructure alongside the new homes. You can click on the image to open it at a larger size in a new tab.
The two main sections of landscaped public green space, open to both new and existing residents, will be:
1. The high ground at the northeast of the land, known as Blackford Hill, which will be transformed into a hilltop park providing views into the surrounding areas
2. The ground on either side of the river, which will be left as a buffer and offer habitats for wildlife.
There will also be significant amounts of informal, incidental landscaped open space spread out around the new homes. In total, the proposals will deliver a more than 10% biodiversity net gain, over and above the policy requirement. The trees and planting around the edge of the site will not only be retained (with the exception of the access points), but enhanced with new planting, with new trees also planted amongst the new homes to make the area aesthetically pleasing, provide shade, and increase biodiversity.
As part of the open space, we will be including areas for play and sport. However, we would be interested in hearing what you would like to see provided in the open space.
